“Here let me get those,” he took the drinks from her. Then grabbed two more out of the fridge for later, his fingers wrapping around all four cans. “Is this it?” he asked as they walked towards the counter.
“Oh, thanks.” She smiled gratefully. “I think so…” Chevy paused a moment, thinking through everything before shaking her head vigorously. “Wait!” She rushed off quickly, only to return with a few peppermint patties. “Okay, now we’ve got everything.”

Sam’s brow furrowed, confused. “A few hundred you forgot about? Wish I had that luxury!” Sam laughed. “But that’s your money. I need to stock up again. I could walk out of one game with $500 if I’m on my game tonight,” he winked.
“Hey, what can I say?” Chevy winked as she grabbed two energy drinks and held them in her arms, the cookies and granola bars occupying her hands. “It would so be awesome if you could.”

The gas pump stopped and Sam hung it back up. He walked into the gas station and stood beside her while she picked out snacks. “$40 even on gas,” he said. “These gas prices are gonna kill us. I might need to win some games of pool tonight,” he giggled.
Turning to see Sam right beside her caused her to jump. “Even? Dang Sam, I always go a penny or two over. Makes me mad.” Chevy laughed out as she grabbed a pack of cookies and a few granola bars. “I’ve still got a few hundreds in the glove compartment. I forgot about that.”

Sam lips twisted in thought. “Yeah, ya know energy drinks sound better. And maybe just a couple granola bars or trail mix if you wouldn’t mind?” Sam started the gas pump. “Please be careful.” He wasn’t sure why he added that last part, but it made him feel better.
“Sure thing!” Chevy smiled and turned on her heel, walking in the direction of the store. “Oh, yeah, um, will do.” She called back to him, wondering why he was telling her to be careful. She shrugged it off anyway and made her way into the store.

Sam snickered. “Yeah we’ll find you some more cookies. And any gas stations fine. I don’t remember being out this way before, so we’ll be playing this trip by ear.”When Chevy pulled up to the gas pump, Sam slipped some money out of his wallet and handed it to her. “I’ll get the gas this time, you get the food.” He walked over and turned on the pump. “Grab me something healthy, yeah?” he winked.
Smiling, she reached over and grabbed the money. “Sure thing. I’m sure they’ve got like, I don’t know, do you want anything specific?” Chevy asked before she got out of the car and shut the door. “Also, do you want me to get coffee or energy drinks?”

“Okay, yeah that’s what I was thinking.” Sam was glad he wouldn’t have to worry over whether she was okay. He could keep an eye on her, which calmed him down.“Nah I think we’re good,” he looked down at their snack bag. “Unless you wanna get more snacks and I can get coffee refills.”
“Coffee refills and maybe some more of those cookies if they have them?” Chevy asked, flashing an innocent smile in hopes he’d say yes. She continued driving until she found a gas station.
“Guess we can stop here. I don’t know if there’s anymore further out.”

“Sounds perfect to me,” Sam replied, closing his phone. “I’ll just wait ‘til we get there and find something.” Then the inevitable thought hit his brain. “Hey are we uh… sharing a room or would you feel better having your own room?”He’s glad he thought to ask now. He didn’t want to give off the wrong signals. He liked Chevy, even with knowing kind of how her human body came to be, but he felt a responsibility to her now, he liked it that way, and he didn’t want to mess that up.
“We can share a room if you’d like, instead of having to get two rooms. Just get one with two beds…yeah?” She continued to drive and stuff M&Ms into her mouth, glancing over at Sam every once in a while. It was a lot funner going places with him because when she was looking for them, driving hours alone in abandoned towns and dark, endless roads got lonely.
“I’ll probably have to stop for gas soon. Would there be anything you want me to get in the little store while I’m at it?”

Sam laughed a full body laugh, “Yeah, sounds like we do need to have one good drunk night tonight. We could cover all those bases.”He pulled out his phone and opened his map. “About how far could we make it tonight you think? I can find us a motel near a bar so we don’t have to drive.”
“Awesome.” Chevy turned onto the road they’d previously came off of, smiling over at him. “I say we keep going until, let’s say, about eight or nine tonight? Then we can find a bar near a motel, drink a little, or a lot, and then go to the motel room? Unless you’ve got any other ideas?”

Sam smiled and grabbed some M&Ms from the bag. “Alright my turn to try this.” He threw one in the air and caught it in his mouth. “Yes! Oww!” he said throwing his hands up and smacking them on the roof of the car. “Okay so I won’t do that again,” he snickered.“So driving huh? I’ll have to remember that,” he commented, chewing up his candy. “I usually just go for a run or something. I’ve also kind of picked up a bad habit of drinking when I’m really pissed. But usually Dean’s the one that pissed me off in the first place so maybe I can stop that again.”
“You okay?” Chevy pressed her lips together in attempt to hold back a laugh. “At least you caught it.”
Her hand reached into the bag and she grabbed a few before tilting her head back and dumping them into her mouth quickly. “I don’t like running, it makes me all breathless and then I think, what’s the point of this?” Swallowing the M&Ms, Chevy gave him a quick nod. “Oh, but alcohol is a different situation. Seriously, are you mad? Have a drink. Are you sad? Have a drink. Are you happy and you know it? Have a drink, unless you’re a little kid, then you just need to stick to clapping your hands.”

Sam had decided he was done with Dean’s permanent-man-PMS. And he wasn’t going to let him make decisions for him anymore.“We can go anywhere. How about Georgia? I hear there’s a bunch of Wendigos in the woods down there. Would be fun to play with fire. Get something easy for a change.” Sam needed easy. He needed a good old fashioned hunt for once. And he was interested to see how Chevy faired on a hunt too.
Chevy’s smile widened as she listened to him speak, it would be her first official hunt. “That sounds awesome. I likey the fire. Georgia it is.” Her eyes locked on the seemingly endless, dead road ahead of them. “If I weren’t so energized from that nap, I could honestly fall asleep driving like this, but hey, keep this in mind, if I ever get angry just make me go for a drive. I’ll come back all sunshine and rainbows.” Her hand pulled away from his as she reached back, grabbing the bag of M&Ms and setting them in between the two.
